More than 200 girls have been kidnapped by Boko Haram, a militant islamist group in Nigeria. Many Islamist theologians are making an attempt to say that this has nothing to do with Islam. Robert Spencer, columnist for TruthRevolt and Director of Jihad Watch, penned an article that combats these assertions. He joined the Morning Answer to talk about his article with Ben Shapiro and Elisha Krauss.
Morning Answer co-host Ben Shapiro asked Robert how the American people can continue to perceive Islam as a religion of peace even after the recent kidnapping.
“The piece today is about the leader of the Ahmadi Muslim in Baltimore who wrote a very typical piece… They quote a few Quran verses that seem to enjoin mercy and compassion and then say they have nothing to do with Islam,” explained Spencer. “The glaring omission in every one of the condemnations of this act by Muslim leaders is that they do not talk about the Quranic concept of the captive of the right hand which is the Quran’s term for precisely women who can be kidnapped and pressed in to sexual slavery.”
