Bill O’Reilly is in a little hot water after saying President Obama is a patriot. He appeared on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! and was talking about his Obama Superbowl interview. O’Reilly said that he liked both George Bush and Barack Obama and both were patriots even though one might disagree with their policies.
“I don’t think that the President is a patriot,” declared Morning Answer co-host Ben Shapiro. “There’s two ways of defining patriotism…there’s the broader definition ‘wants what’s best for his country.’ Under that definition, I think President Obama’s a patriot…just like…if Osama Bin Laden lived here, he’d be a patriot because by definition because his version of what would be good for the country is different than my version…but if the definition is he wants what’s best for the country in his own view, and its’ value neutral, then everybody’s a patriot.”
Ben went on to explain the next definition as believing in the founding principles of the United States. “I don’t believe that President Obama believes in the principles of the United States. I don’t believe a lot of the left believe in the founding principles of the United States. I think they want to transform America in to a European County,” said Ben.
