DOMA, Prop 8 Ruling - Dennis Prager Comments on Morning Answer

A key provision of the Defense of Marriage Act is unconstitutional according to the US Supreme Court ruling handed down Wednesday morning.  In addtion, the court "punted" on Prop 8, saying that the proponents who defended the proposition had no legal standing.

"This isn't total vindication yet for the same-sex marriage crowd because we don't have a 'One Law of the Land' routine going on," explained Morning Answer host and Harvard trained lawyer Ben Shaprio.  "But this is what is in the future.  The Supreme Court wanted to avoid a Roe v. Wade style controversy."

Dennis Prager joined the Morning Answer to comment on the rulings.  Brian Whitman asked Dennis if he was surprised.

"I'm surprised believe it or not on Prop 8 that they wouldn't even make a decision, which of course is a decision," pointed out Dennis.  "The vote of the citizens of California doesn't matter... it's unconstitutional."
