Poll: Christie Most Popular GOP Candidate with California Voters

A new Field Poll indicates that 47 percent of California voters have a complimentary view of Chris Christie.  Out of four possible GOP presidential contenders, he took the top spot above Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and Marco Rubio.  Those four are also viewed favorably by Republicans, but Christie pulls above all of them among Democrats and Independents.  The Morning Answer took callers and asked them their opinions on Christie’s popularity.

Brian Whitman asked Mike in Moreno Valley if Christie’s popularity was a surprise.

“Not really,” replied Mike, “’cause he’s more socially liberal.  But I myself don’t like [unintelligible] – you know the elite liberal media serves as the offensive and the Democrats serve as the defense of the left so I just blindly vote the Republican line. “

Brian then asked Mike who his candidate of choice was and Mike told him it was Marco Rubio.

Brian then asked Ben Shapiro, “You’re off the Rubio bandwagon aren’t you?”

“Well Rubio hasn’t been good on immigration, and he hasn’t shown himself to have a spine yet,” explained Ben Shapiro.  “The minute Rubio shows himself to have a spine then maybe he’ll be back on the bandwagon.”

@MichaelU Chris Christy? Here we go again. The base already pushing “their guy.” Can you say, “2012 version 2!”
Rand Paul was misrepresented on your show. Ben does not agree with Rand Paul’s foreign policy and labels him an isolationist. Rand Paul is not an isolationist in the classical sense of the word. He believes in free market trade, is not a protectionist, and is not afraid of getting involved militarily with congressional approval. His “isolationist” principles saved us from getting unnecessarily involved with Syria. Please find me evidence of him doing anything other than wanting to follow the Constitution.
Elisha called Ron Paul anti-Semitic. This is strong language. This means hatred of the Jewish people. Can you find me anything to substantiate these accusations?
I enjoy listening to you guys and hope you realize the influence that you have over public opinion. I would hate to see the Republican base vote for the wrong candidate again!
