Texas Governor Rick Perry will be making an appearance at The Answer’s Townhall 2013 on October 6 at the Sheraton Fairplex Hotel in Pomona. He joined the team of the The Morning Answer on the air this morning to talk about a variety of subjects.
Co-host Brian Whitman asked Perry how his campaign earlier this year to woo businesses to Texas worked. “Two states were at the top of lost wealth…per capita…California and New York States lost more wealth than any other state in the nation,” explained Governor Perry. “And the states that gained more wealth were Florida, Arizona and Texas. People are fleeing high-tax, high regulation, high litigation states and going to where they can keep more of their money.”
Fill-in host Jennifer Horn questioned Perry about immigration. He said he thinks the whole immigration debate is going to “mightily” shift in a short period of time. “The President of Mexico is talking about liberalizing their energy policies…where the private sector can come in…and allow companies to actually own the resources on a commission basis. That will effectively create a net migration out of the United States back to Mexico.”
