The Glendale City council is moving forward with possibly banning a gun show that has been held at the Civic Auditorium since 1992. Despite the opposition by gun show supporters, the council told the city attorney to draft an ordinance that would also permanently bar the sale of guns on city-owned property, according to the Glendale News Press.
On Wednesday’s “Morning Answer” radio show, co-host Heidi Harris pointed out that only 1% of guns bought at gun shows are ever used in an illegal fashion.
Co-host Brian Whitman then asked, “So how about closing that loophole?” in reference to gun show background checks. Heidi replied that she wanted people to be background checked. The problem she says is that “criminals are just going to go around the law.”
Ben Shapiro also agreed that he’d like to see background checks, but whether or not they’re actually going to be effective is unknown.
