CHP Meets with Civil Rights Leaders Over 10 Freeway Beating

Civil rights leaders in Los Angeles are calling for a thorough investigation after a California Highway Patrol officer was videotaped last week pummeling a woman alongside a freeway.

Civil rights activist Earl Ofari Hutchinson says the officer should be punished for committing a civil rights violation. Community leaders met yesterday with CHP Commissioner Joseph Farrow.

The CHP says the woman was walking within traffic lanes on Interstate 10 on July 1st and ignored commands from the officer to stop.
