A 25-year-old woman is safe after being held captive and sexually assaulted for 10 years. In August of 2004, a 15-year-old illegal immigrant girl and her mother's live-in boyfriend Isidrio Garcia were reported missing by her mother. The disappearance followed a domestic violence incident, according to Santa Ana police.
The victim told Santa Ana detectives that following the assault on her mother, she was drugged and taken to a house in Compton. Garcia then provided fake ID and locked her overnight in the garage to keep her from fleeing. In the months and years after the kidnap, Garcia told the victim that her family had given up looking for her and if she tried to return to them, the family would be deported.
To avoid detection, the couple moved frequently. The also worked along side each other at a night cleaning service so Garcia could keep a close eye on the victim.
In 2012, the couple married and had a child.
Recently the victim contacted her sister through Facebook and eventually came forward to the police.
Garcia was arrested on multiple felony charges, including Kidnap for Rape, Lewd Act with a Minor, and False Imprisonment. The case has been submitted for consideration to the Orange County District Attorney's Office.
