Sheriff's deputies are on the hunt for 37-year-old Christopher Lee Brown after he escaped from the Inmate Reception Center Release. Brown was able to walk out of the facility at 10pm on Wednesday.
Investigators believ that he was impersonating another inmate in an attempt to get out of the jail. Deputies learned of the escape during a "wristband count" during the night. They figured out one inmate was not where he should be.
After a search of the jail and checking of security video, the footage of Brown's escape was discovered.
"As a result of the inmate's actions, and...it appears that mandated security practices may not have been followed, the inmate was able to escape through the jail Inmate Reception Center release door," said Capt. Mike Parker. "Identified security concerns were immediately remedied."
The suspect had been sentenced Wednesday to a four year jail term for Burglary and Identity Theft in Alhambra.
Brown has an extensive rap sheet, including Theft and Assault with a Deadly Weapon. He is described as a black male, standing 6-feet-3-inches tall and weighs in at 200 pounds.
