Amanda Sananikone is in custody after being arrested for a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a 14-year-old girl in Santa Ana.
Saninikone was is of the two people believed to have left the scene following the collision at 17th and Bristol on Monday afternoon. She was driving a black Cadillac and did stop after hitting the girl. However, she never identified herself and soon left the scene.
The driver of the Cadillac was believed to be a student of Santa Ana college. A police officer for the school saw a vehicle matching the description of the one involved in the crash and contacted the driver. Santa Ana police responded and took her in to custody.
Saninikone is facing felony hit-and-run charges and was still in custody as of 11:30am on Thursday, according to Orange County Inmate records. Her bail was set at $50,000.
