Firefighters are remaining on scene following a massive Lumber Yard fire in Pacoima Thursday night. Fire crews responded to flames before 8pm at SB Lumber and HB Redwood located on Sutter Avenue, near the intersection of San Fernando Road.
The blaze heavily damaged a pair of lumber businesses, knocked down power lines and closed a nearby Metrolink rail line, but authorities say no one was injured. At the height of the fight, over 100 firefighters were knocking down the fire.
Firefighters are staying at the fire location protecting a structure originally thought to be a water tower but instead is a silo containing combustible sawdust. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
