A prayer service is planned for Crouch Memorial after a fire destroyed the 120-year-old church.
The fire broke out around 9:30am on Tuesday morning. Over 150 firefighters responded to the 1000 block of E 27th St.
At one point, the roof collapsed with firefighters inside.
The battle went on in to the afternoon, with crews still dousing hot spots until after 1pm.
Nobody was killed, but two firefighters were transported to the hospital. Their injuries are said to be non-life threatening.
The historic structure has been deemed a total loss. It is one of the very few wooden framed churches left around Southern California.
