The "Asian Wig Bandit" is still on the loose and cops are now offering a reward of $25,000 in connection with his capture and conviction.
Officials say that the suspect walks in to a business disguised as a female wearing a wig and sunglasses. He pulls out a handgun and then orders them to the ground, demanding money and jewelery.
The suspect is believed to be responsible for 15 incidents across Southern California since December 2012. He targets companies that specialize in sending money to the Philippines.
"This bandit presents a serious threat to the public," Mayor Eric Garcetti told reports. "I want this bandit identified, caught and convicted before his crimes escalate."
About 25-30 years old, the suspect stands 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs around 160-180 pounds. He wears a blond or black shoulder-length wig and drives a light colored BMW X5 SUV.
Police ask anyone with information to call Detectives Freddy Arroyo or Daniel Jaramillo at (213)486-6840 or anonymous at 800-222-8477.
