Los Angeles has a new mayor. Eric Garcetti was ceremonially sworn in yesterday as the 42nd Mayor of The City of Angels on the steps outside L.A. City Hall.
ABC late night host Jimmy Kimmel emceed the event as eight L.A. City Council members were also sworn-in. The inauguration was followed by a "party in the park" with food trucks, carnival games and information booths on the lawn across the street from City Hall.
The inauguration also included the swearing-ins for Ron Galperin as Los Angeles City Controller and Mike Feuer as City Attorney.
Garcetti didn't actually take office until midnight.
Garcetti succeeds Antonio Villaraigosa as Mayor of America's second-largest city.
